i originally wanted to make this a joke post that insisted continually that i was going to write about something deep for my first blog post, yet write about absolutely nothing at all in the process. after posting it, though, i realized that i did actually want to write *something*. even if it wasn't quite long or impactful.
i haven't written seriously for non-academic or non-professional purposes in quite some time. it's a fascinating thing to think about, really. i could quite easily point to school as an excuse (which i have in the past), or a lack of time in general, or a preference for other forms of communication. but i feel like those are quite cliched. to be fair, so is the process of "rediscovering why writing is fun" and "starting a blog"...
...regardless of how cliche this may be, i have started to miss writing. noting down compelling arguments for the existence of laminae has been a particular driver of this yearning-to-write. plus, i have a mini-essay on a particular piece of media i've been procrastinating writing for about 2 years. i gotta get it out sometime.
i probably won't end up updating this blog too much, but i hope to post some neat niche things that maybe will provide a window into what i'm interested in, both for anyone interested and my own forgetful self.
